Three weeks at the Zittrauerhof—an unforgettable time

Benjamin and Philip completed their farming internship with us at the Zittrauerhof in cooperation with the Waldorf School, and I recently received this letter. Thanks, guys—it was a lot of fun working with you.

“Our agricultural internship at the Zittrauerhof was a wonderful experience for us. The warm welcome from the Schwaiger family and the sense of community, in particular, helped us feel right at home from the very first day.

During those three weeks, Philip and I got to learn about many different tasks on the farm and at the alpine pasture and really pitched in ourselves. What we especially enjoyed was being so close to the animals. One unforgettable experience was being able to help with a calf’s birth.

We were able to learn a lot about farming, gain hands-on experience, and become more independent.

The internship showed us just how varied and demanding the farming profession is and how much responsibility it entails. We’ve gained a great deal of respect for this work, and Benjamin can even imagine working in agriculture himself someday.

We look back on three eventful weeks during which we gained a great deal, not only professionally but also personally. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Schwaiger family for the wonderful time, the many experiences, and the warm welcome. We highly recommend the Zittrauerhof as an internship site, and we’re sure we’ll look back on this time with fond memories for a long time to come! Benjamin and Philip.”
