The Zittrauerhof is located on the valley floor between Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein, making it particularly convenient for a winter farm holiday in Gastein. The Schlossalm, Angertal and Stubnerkogel ski areas in Gasteinertal are only a few kilometers away. They are also easy to reach by bus or car. Gasteinertal is also part of the Ski amadé area, so you can enjoy over 800 kilometers of slopes with just one ski pass.
Skiing in Gastein on 180 Kilometers of Slopes
The Gastein ski area offers around 180 kilometers of slopes across three different ski areas. Right at Bad Hofgastein, the Schlossalm–Angertal–Stubnerkogel ski area combines varied runs with modern mountain lifts. There is also the family-friendly Dorfgastein–Großarltal ski circuit and the high-alpine Sportgastein, which reaches up to 2,650 meters and is thus the highest ski area in Ski amadé.
From Zittrauerhof you can reach the Schlossalm cable car base station in about 2.5 kilometers. Angertal and other access points to the ski area are also quickly accessible by car or ski bus. This makes our farm an ideal starting point for a ski holiday in Bad Hofgastein – and at the same time a cozy retreat after an active day in the Gastein mountains.

Winter Experiences Off the Slopes
Even without skis, you can experience winter in Gasteinertal in many different ways. Many well-groomed cross-country trails are available for classic cross-country skiers and skaters. There are also marked winter hiking trails, snowshoe routes, and cleared walking paths through the snowy landscape. Beautiful winter hikes even start right at Zittrauerhof, heading toward Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein.
For even more variety, there is tobogganing, ice skating, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and other winter experiences in the region. Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein also have toboggan runs such as the Aeroplan natural toboggan run and Bellevue Alm. And when you want something quieter afterward, a winter day can be wonderfully rounded off in the warm thermal water of the Alpentherme or Felsentherme.
