A genuine Erbhof in the Gastein Valley since the 16th century
Our farm has been family-owned since the 16th century. The farmhouse, which is around 400 years old, has been renovated with great care and today combines history and tradition with modern farm life in a very special way.
With a lot of love, hard work, and shared effort, we continue to run the Zittrauerhof, always striving to preserve one thing: a vibrant farm where agriculture, animals, and living with nature take center stage.
Family-owned for centuries
The Zittrauerhof is a genuine Erbhof and has been in our family’s possession since the 16th century. For generations, people have lived, worked, and farmed here.
The farmhouse, which is around 400 years old, still tells the story of this long history and has been carefully renovated without losing its original character.
Our farm today
Today, we continue to run the Zittrauerhof with much love and shared dedication. It is important to us to keep the farm alive with its many animals and our alm, while carefully developing the farm for the future.
In the heart of the Gastein Valley
The Zittrauerhof is located at around 860 meters above sea level on the valley floor between Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein and is easily accessible.
The farm includes extensive meadows, forests, and wooded pastures, as well as our high-altitude Zittraueralm on the Stubnerkogel.
A farm in the rhythm of the seasons
In spring, fences are repaired, the animals return to the pastures, and preparations for the hay harvest begin.
In summer, there is a lot of work to be done: the hay is brought in, products from the garden are harvested, and the animals spend their time up on the alm.
In autumn, the fruit harvest follows, along with the last days of grazing around the farm.
