The time with Anna, our intern here at Zittrauerhof, flew by in a flash. In the height of summer we’re busy everywhere – in the garden, with the animals, in the barn, out in the pasture, with our guests, cleaning rooms – it’s demanding, but also really interesting and varied. Anna rose to the challenge and gave us wonderful support during summer 2026. THANK YOU

“My internship at Zittrauerhof – right in the middle instead of just watching”

Hello, my name is Anna and I was able to spend my internship at Zittrauerhof in August. I soon realized: There is always something to do here – and it was precisely this variety that I particularly enjoyed.

From barn work and caring for the animals to cooking and guest care, I was able to get a taste of very different areas. No day was like the other.

My working day usually began in the children’s barn. There I looked after the rabbits, goats, ponies, pigs, ducks and chickens. Fresh water, feed and daily mucking out were among my tasks. After that I went out to the pasture to the calves. I checked the fence and made sure all the animals were doing well.

I was also able to help with guest care. I set the tables for breakfast and, together with the team, made sure everything was tidy in the house and kitchen. On departure days it was time to work together! We cleaned the rooms, made the beds and prepared everything for the next guests.

And there was always something to do around the farm. Sometimes I helped with work in the cow barn, mowed with the brush cutter or helped with haymaking. It was precisely these different tasks that made my internship so exciting for me.

I am very grateful for the wonderful time at Zittrauerhof. I was able to try out many things, learn new things and get an insight into everyday life on a farm. Above all, I take home many great memories, new experiences and acquaintances and a lot of beautiful moments.
