Today it is once again time for a delicious recipe that is not only simple, but also incredibly tasty! And especially now, when it is getting colder outside and the snowflakes are dancing from the sky, our Topfen dumplings bring a cozy warmth for body and soul!
Fruit dumplings with Topfen dough
Ingredients: 250 g Topfen (quark) 1 whole egg 1 pinch of salt 150 g flour 1 tbsp semolina 1 tbsp soft butter Salt water, favorite fruit For coating: 6 tbsp breadcrumbs, almond flakes to taste, cinnamon, hazelnuts – whatever you like, 3 tbsp butter
This makes approx. 6 large fruit dumplings or 9 small Topfen dumplings.
if the fruit is frozen, take it out of the freezer shortly before cooking
Mix the Topfen, egg, salt, flour, semolina, and butter.
Place in the refrigerator for approx. 30 min or the freezer for 15 min.
Dust a wooden board or work surface with flour and take the dough out of the bowl. Form the dough into a thick roll and cut off 1 cm thick slices.
Place a piece of fruit on each slice and then form dumplings from them.
Bring salt water to a boil in a large pot and let the dumplings boil or simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Meanwhile, toast the butter and breadcrumbs, vanilla sugar, almond flakes, cinnamon, and grated hazelnuts in a pan and roll the dumplings in them.
And our Topfen dumplings with favorite fruit are ready! I also like to make just Topfen dumplings without fruit and then add a fruit pulp or a good strawberry jam, served with a scoop of ice cream – it tastes delicious.
Have fun cooking, wishes you
