Ant Bundt Cake—Simple and Delicious

On many farms, people often bake a Guglhupf for guests’ breakfast and for the family. A particularly delicious and easy recipe is the ANT GUGLHUPF. Have fun baking it!

Ingredients: 4 eggs, 80 g granulated sugar, 110 g powdered sugar, 1/8 liter mineral water or tap water, 1/8 liter oil, 250 g flour, 1 package baking powder, 1 package vanilla sugar, a little lemon sugar or lemon zest. Cooking chocolate.

Preparation: Beat the egg whites with granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. Mix the powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, and lemon zest, then beat with the egg yolks and water until very frothy (stir in the water slowly). Slowly add the oil. Mix the flour and baking powder, then add them slowly (I always add one spoonful at a time). Finally, fold in the egg whites. Add chopped chocolate (I always use a plastic bag, put the cooking chocolate inside, hit it with a meat tenderizer, and the chopped chocolate is ready). You can also use a food processor to chop the chocolate.

Bake at 180 degrees for 45 minutes.

I got this recipe from Marianne, who did her internship here on our farm—the kids love this Guglhupf. Have fun baking it, Katharina, Zittrauerhof Gastein.

P.S.: Why is it called “Ant Guglhupf”? If you look closely, you can see the little black specks in the Guglhupf (chocolate), which look like “little ants” to the kids.
