The fascinating atmosphere of the first snow in the new winter. A very special experience for young and old!

The first snow this year came very early. Already at the beginning of September you could see the white peaks of the mountains shining. Especially for our guests who come from rather snowless regions, this is a stunning sight.

But the snow didn’t want to stay on the peaks. On September 22nd it was said: “Tomorrow the snow will come down to 1,300 meters!” Well okay, our farm is still a few meters away from that.

But things always turn out differently than you think! So it was this time too. I was busy cleaning rooms with an intern when the rain turned to snow. “Oh, it won’t stick!”… I thought to myself. But as I said, always different than you think!!! It snowed and snowed, the flakes got bigger and bigger. And the snow stuck. For me all quite normal, the snow comes and goes. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later. But my intern was over the moon!!!

She comes from a region of Germany where there is less rather than more snow. And when it comes, then really only in January or February. She had never experienced snow in September before. And despite her 22 years, her eyes shone like a child’s!
And since it didn’t stay at just a few snowflakes, but a small blanket of snow formed, suddenly at midday a snowman stood in front of the front door.

That’s how it is with the first snow. It makes children’s and adults’ hearts beat faster and brings lots of fun and joy!

The snow didn’t stick of course, but winter is making its way further and further down into the valley. The mountains are already wearing their white dress, which will soon spread into the valley areas as well.
