once a cold-blood …. always a cold-blood!

Off to Bavaria it was for the Noriker mare Olivia in May 2017 to her new owner Katrin, whose heart beats especially for the Noriker.

We received some nice lines from her a few days ago and I think it’s worth a farm story. We are always especially pleased when we sell animals and still have contact afterwards and hear positive things. The two seem to have sought and found each other.

In December 2016 we had to let our 18-year-old Noriker mare Nora cross the rainbow bridge. It took a few months until we decided again that a horse had to come back into the stable, because without a horse it simply doesn’t work. When it came to the question of which breed it should be, we didn’t have to think long. It should be a Noriker again and preferably a black one! On 19.05.2017 we then came across the advertisement from Zittrauerhof Gastein! The next day we called there right away and Sunday evening we had telephoned again and arranged something for 23.05.2017. Since the distance is just under 300km one way, we decided at short notice to go straight away with the horse trailer. When we arrived there around midday, we were warmly greeted by the Schwaiger family. We were also led straight to the meadow with the horses, where Matthias then introduced us to Olivia. After brief consideration and a test ride, we decided to take Olivia with us to the Bavarian Forest. The return journey went without problems and she was very well-behaved during the long drive. In the new stable our Olivia also settled in quite quickly. In the first two weeks we explored the nearby area through walks. Cars, mopeds, cyclists, etc. didn’t interest her at all when they crossed our path. She has also already had several appointments since she has been with us. Among other things, the vet was there for vaccinations. She has also already met our farrier Viktor as well as the equine dentist! She mastered all 3 appointments very well. Since 09.06. we have put Olivia into training! There too you only hear positive things from her trainers!

I myself have been riding for about 14 years now and it has become my favorite hobby. I started with warmbloods in a riding stable, but then I was allowed to ride a cold-blood for 10 years and I don’t want to ride any other breed anymore! Once a cold-blood always a cold-blood!
