New Arrival in the Children’s Barn

We waited a long time and hoped the whole time that everything would go well! And now the moment has finally come. Yesterday our dear Molly became a mama for the first time!

For those who don’t know Molly yet: She is our sweet-as-sugar Spectacled sheep. Spectacled sheep are among the endangered sheep breeds, even though they have many advantages, as they are very robust and undemanding. You can recognize Spectacled sheep by the typical rings around their eyes and their floppy ears. With her calm and easy-going nature, Molly makes every heart beat faster. Whether guests or farm residents. No matter, we simply love her so much.

Last October we brought Molly to the Jura ram at my sister’s organic farm Maurachgut, hoping that there would be offspring 5 months later. And the father also has a robust and resilient nature as his characteristic.

During the five months of pregnancy, however, Molly didn’t just have to stand in the barn and rest. She was walked a lot by our guest children and properly cared for. An expectant mama should feel good too :-)) The “pregnancy exercise” obviously did her good.

Yesterday the time had come. And so that everything could happen in peace and no one would disturb Molly during the birth, Grandpa Hias kept standing in front of the children’s barn door and ordered quiet for once.

Now we have such a beautiful lamb, but still no name…
Maybe someone has an idea! We would be very happy about creative ideas at info@gasteinurlaub.com or via Facebook! It should start with M, just like the mama, and suit a female. Maja or Mimi are already taken :-)
