Lavender scent is in the air…

Perfect for summer, today I have a lovely recipe for all those who love the floral note of lavender. The lavender syrup is especially good for mixing with cool mineral water, sparkling wine, or white wine. Have fun making it and good luck! For the syrup, you can use fresh or dried lavender blossoms, depending on your taste or the season.

You will need: (it’s best to make multiple batches)
200 g sugar
150 ml water
3 tbsp lemon juice (or a little citric acid)
2 tbsp lavender, dried or fresh:

Preparation:

Heat sugar, water, and lemon juice in a pot while stirring.
Let it simmer gently for 5 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the lavender blossoms. Seal the pot airtight with foil and let it steep for 3 days; for dried lavender, a few hours are sufficient.

After 3 days, strain and pour into clean, well-rinsed screw-top bottles or bottles disinfected in the oven. Store the finished lavender syrup in a cool place.
Tastes great with sparkling wine and over ice! Delicious!
