That was the summer of 2020

In midsummer we’re always supported by interns, mostly from agricultural or home economics schools across Austria. This summer, too, three girls took turns at the farm and we shared many experiences together:

From preparing products for the guest breakfast, bringing out the animals, hay harvest, cattle drive, helping in the kitchen and garden, to cleaning the stables – this year we covered it all. All “Tyrolean” girls were represented at Zittrauerhof this year.

What was the girls’ feedback from this summer?

Natalie & Lorena – the best internship & new friendships

We are Lorena and Natalie from beautiful North Tyrol and East Tyrol. We did an eight-week internship at Zittrauerhof and it was unforgettable. We hit it off from the very start! We laughed so much day and night and got everyone else laughing too.

One of our many tasks was also cleaning the stable, where we literally stood in the “crap.”

With every task we always played very loud music and sang along. The funniest moment was probably catching the duckling. We were almost attacked by their duck mama! #Living on the edge! Thanks for the unforgettable time, we will definitely come back. The food was always delicious.

and Nathalie from Kitzbühel was also at our farm to complete her internship:

Through my internship here at Zittrauerhof I learned a lot of new things, was able to expand existing knowledge many times over, and apply theoretical and practical knowledge that I learned at school.

I helped with work in the household, in the stable, in the garden, and in the kitchen, which gave me variety and it never became monotonous. My highlights: Milking the goat and harvesting the rowan berries.

I especially enjoyed being able to work with both the guests and the animals. Every day brought new tasks, experiences, and insights into the world of “farm holidays.” Nathalie
