A new pony for the family: Kessy moves to Lower Austria

Kessy will become the future family horse at Pfeiffer Riding Farm in Lilienfeld, Lower Austria

“Kessy will soon be moving in with us in Lower Austria, at my parents’ Pfeiffer Riding Farm—run by the Krickl family. Our farm is located at just under 600 m above sea level on a sunny plateau surrounded by greenery.

My name is Andrea Krickl, and I’ve owned horses for almost 30 years (so, almost as long as I can remember)—from my first Shetland pony, to a Haflinger, and all the way to my beloved Appaloosa mare and her foal May. Along the way, I’ve gained a lot of experience and enjoyed many wonderful moments.

On February 2, 2026, I bought my young horse Nelly, a very sweet American Quarter Horse mare who has already moved in with us at the farm. She will, hopefully, be my companion for many, many years.

We wanted to give Nelly a well-socialised upbringing, so we started looking for another foal as a playmate—alongside our 15 full-sized horses.

So my partner Andreas—whose hometown is Bad Hofgastein—my mum Helga and I thought that a pony foal would be the ideal solution, as my 4-year-old niece already has a great love of horses, and our family is growing.

That’s when we came across Kessy—a sturdy, four-legged Gastein girl. The first impression immediately won over my Gastein partner and me: from the very first moment, Kessy seemed adorable, friendly, sweet to handle, and simply a heart-stealer. We knew right away that Kessy was the right horse to enrich our farm in the future. And what’s more, my partner Andreas is bringing a little piece of home—and some hands-on Gastein support—to Lower Austria.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful future with our young horses Nelly and Kessy, who will make our hearts—and our children’s hearts—beat faster.
